IVFers, a transfer question

Re: IVFers, a transfer question

  • We put in 2 at 5 days.  Good luck to you! I'd be terrified to put back 3.  If we ever do IVF again one will be it!!

  • We transferred one one day 5. It split twice, I'm pg with triplets. The thought of three embies terrifies me but I'm sure it's right for you. gL!

We transferred 2 on day 3.  They endd up being our only two that were good enough.  None of the other eggs that fertilized progressed enough to be frozen.  So, these two are really our miracle babies and we couldn't be happier.

This!  We had 4 fresh on day 3 and I asked them to do the transfer that day.  They picked the best 2 and both took.  The other 2 did not make it :(

  • We transferred two on Day 5.  One was AAA and the other AAB.  Both stuck!  We still have seven frozen, one AAA, one AAB, and several other combo A/B/C.  If we decide to try for another, we will definitely do SET since these embryos + my awesome RE = very successful.

Edited to add:  I have no diagnosed issues except a short luteal phase, DH has azoospermia so we used donor sperm + ICSI after two unsuccessful IUIs.  I was 31 and healthy at the time of our one and only IVF cycle.

Is your doctor recommending three?  I'd be very, very cautious unless he/she can give you a very good reason to transfer more than two.  Success rates for a take-home baby don't necessarily go up when more embryos are transferred, but potential complications and multiples do.
