I think my water may have just broken. I had 4 or 5 small trickles of clear fluid that soaked my underwear. After each trickle, I would sit down for a minutes. After standing again, more fluid would come out.
I'm actually at the hospital now waiting for my NST and BPP since I'm past my due date. The woman who checked me in asked if I had noticed any fluid. I told her no. I don't want to tell anyone here about the fluid because I don't want to be admitted too early. My plan was to labor at home with my doula and DH and not come to the hospital until right before transition.
I think DH is starting to get nervous that something will happen to the baby if we don't tell them about the fluid. I'm also afraid if it was my water breaking, that they will be able to tell on the ultrasound and make me stay. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thoughts? Ahhh. This is not how it was supposed to happen!

I just asked and they said if you come in with ruptured membranes, they will only release you AMA (against medical orders). I believe this means insurance will no longer pay. Anyone know?
This is such a mess!
You may have already made a decision, but I'd keep it to myself and head home to labor, personally. Sounds like you may have a high leak. Sometimes these things seal back up and you continue on pregnant for some time. If you do go home, take your temp every so often, have hubby clean your bathroom, and keep your hands away.
With my first, I had what seemed like a leak of amniotic fluid. A little bit starting on Saturday every once in awhile (teaspoon amount), a little more on Sunday. I didn't think of it as ruptured membranes, and I didn't want to call the clinic because I wasn't sure where this would fall on their spectrum of ordering me to come in and starting a clock on me. The CNM had previously told me that if my water broke I might want to not let them know right away and instead labor at home (although officially she had to tell me to come in). A funny double message, but I got the gist. It's really ok to labor at home after your water breaks, just minimize infection risks and monitor yourself.
Take a nap if you can.
GL!
I've heard some insurance companies can use that as an excuse not to pay, don't have any personal experience with that though. Best of luck!
Nothing like a real life lesson in how you can't plan everything.
Good luck! Babe will be here soon!
I'd be honest with them. This is what happened to me too and looking back, that's my advice. (Although I can say that knowing how my birth turned out.) I was an emotional wreck, sobbing because I was supposed to labor at home w/ doula, DH and go to hospital at 6-7 cm. Baby's have their own game plan!
Good luck!!! Whatever you decide - the baby is coming soon!!!

Hugs. I am sorry that it didn't quite turn out the way you hoped but may the rest of your labor experience go smoothly. You will do great!!!

At least your labor started spontaneously! Hopefully it progresses well. Congratulations, you're having a baby!
