day 2 of toddler bed...will this get better?

Miss the crib!!! DS took 45 minutes to fall asleep for his nap although he was clearly exhausted. He was bouncing arnd his new bed, found him out of it twice playing on the floor. Finally i laid down w him until he fell asleep!

HELP will this get better?

Yeah it's posts like these that make me want to keep my DS in a crib til he's in Kindergarten.

It did not get better for us. We tried for 7 nights. Of those 7 days, she did not nap AT ALL and nights were AWFUL. We put the crib back up and will try again later. I'm not really in a rush.

Yes.

The first few nights I laid with him until he fell asleep. Then I sat up on the corner of his bed for a few nights so he knew I was there, but I didnt lie down next to him. Finally I was able to put him in his bed, close the door and he'd fall asleep on his own. On occasion, I have to lie with him because he has trouble falling asleep but it is the exception rather than the rule.

This is why I wait until age three. I skip the toddler bed and move up to a big girl/boy bed (twin) and make it a big deal.
