This weekend DH will be out of town for a bachelor party so I plan on living on leftover taco meat as nachos! Ty and I are also going to a 1st Communion on Saturday so I'm making chocolate whoopie pies. I was asked to bring a dessert, so I figured these would be kid friendly!
Re: What's for dinners this week?
Last week we were busy and ate a lot of cereal and sandwiches for dinner so hopefully this week we are back on track:
Yesterday: Turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries...Thanksgiving in April!
Today: Leftovers from yesterday + fresh steamed green beans
Tuesday & Wednesday: Roasted spaghetti squash with ground sausage and marinara
Thursday: rosemary chicken, baked potatoes, roasted broccoli
Friday: crock pot roast with carrots
Saturday: ??? family is visiting, probably go out to eat.
In no particular order:
Cheeseburger Lettuce Wraps
Loaded Potato and Buffalo Chicken Casserole
Chef Salads w/Garlic Bread
Skinny Chicken Rollatini
Turkey Burgers w/Bacon and Balsamic Onions
Chicken Enchiladas w/Homemade Chipotle Sauce
S: Shepards Pie
M: Tortellni
T: Chilli
W: Rice and Beans
T: Linguini and Alfredo Sauce
F: Taco
S: Lasanga
ETA: I meal planned and spent $80 yesterday for this stuff in addtion to some staples like, bread, milk , cereal and Frozen Lunches. If I stick to this meal planning thing I should be well withinn my $400 per month budget!!!!
I start my new job this week so we will see how many of these meals actually get made!
Yesterday: band banquet
Today: leftover chicken from the banquet and macaroni and cheese
Tuesday : meatball subs and salad
Wednesday: leftover pasta, garlic bread,
Thursday: glazed pork chops and mashed potatoes
Friday: eat out
Saturday: broccoli cheddar soup
Brats and salad
Grilled salmon and corn on the cob
Enchaladas
Sicilian pasta ( pasta, zucchini flavored with garlic, red pepper and olive oil in a tomato basil sauce)
That's amazing! I totally swear by meal planning - it makes everything so much easier! Not only is it cheaper, but it's also less time at the store, at least for me it is.
For me its not having to wander through the fridge and pantry for 20 mins trying to figure out what to throw togther. I also double saved b/c I did not end up using the frozen dinner I purchased for lunch today. There was 2 days worth of shepards pie left overs!
Mon: Tex-Mex chicken and rice
Tues: Creamy angel hair pasta
Wed: Veggie quesadillas and yellow rice
Thurs: Soup/sandwiches (H has work dinner)
