Hello,
PPD runs in my family and I am currently on an anti depressant that I have to be taken off of ( I am not pregnant yet, but I do have my 1st preconception check up today). I figured that I would try to start coping and looking up calming techniques ahead of time to hopefully help. I know though that my depression can be really bad and really dark and like yall probably know it comes out of nowhere.
I have been looking up meditation and breathing... but who knows.
I DID read last week that January Jones had her placenta dried and put into capsule form for her to take. She said that it supposedly helps with the PPD. While I find this um a bit weird if it truly works then awesome! Has anyone heard anything else on this or it this just a crazy hollywood thing?
Re: Placenta? Really?
A friend of mine did this: actually cooked hers and ate it, but I don't think it really helped
BTW why going off the anti depressants? I also was taking AD before conceiving, and after extensive research and consult with my doctor, we there was so little evidence and trial regarding the effects in utero, it was better just to stay on them. After all, becoming depressed affects fetal development as well.
Yes I agree. I think I might try something like taking a smaller dosage and then trying some meditation or something.
Not so into eatting my placenta... I mean how do you cook that? Garlic? butter? LOL j/k. But the pill idea seems interesting. I'd totally try it.
