Before the primary here I got 5-6 calls a day from the Republican candidates for the different state house positions that were open. It was SO annoying.

It's quite the opposite at our house. We've received zero calls from Obama but McCain's folks keep calling us even though we've each donated the limited amount to his campaign fund. Guess they're calling to remind us to vote Tuesday. I just let DS answer the phone when they call.
I haven't had any calls to the cell phone, but we do get several calls a day to the house. ?Some are automated messages, and some are people actually expecting to engage me in conversation. ?We also get plenty of Obama supporters knocking on the door. ?So annoying. ?I can't wait until this election is over.
No emails, thankfully. I get enough junk mail as is.
I wish I could add a caveat to my registered Independent status - like, registered Independent because I abhor both parties, don't even try to contact me, I will just try to vote twice against you. LOL. Ok, I'm not quite that spiteful, but seriously. I like being a registered Independent, but it also means that I fall into a desired swing vote category that I'm not really in. John McCain has not attempted to contact me though; guess he doesn't want my vote that badly, ha!
And LOL @ the Yes on 8 campaign, Cubby. I'd be tempted to scream obscenities at them.

DH and I signed up to canvass yesterday for GOTV. The campaign people called us FOUR TIMES on Friday night to make sure we were both coming, to tell us where to be, to see if we wanted to phone bank as well, to change our meet up location, to change it back...OMG.
Then tonight someone canvassed OUR house and two different groups called us. It's quite the operation. If someone needs a phonecall, they can borrow one of mine.
I think after 3 stops at my house, the Obama canvassers FINALLY figured out that YES, I am supporting their candidate - stop wasting your time knocking on my door. I even went to an organizing meeting, so I know how the online thing was supposed to work on mybarackobama.com. My door should only have been knocked on once ;P
We got a bunch of calls about the in-person absentee voting. They had Michelle Obama record a message about it. I was able to convince my DH to do that option, so I guess it had its desired effect.
I am not bothered by the emails...that much. I signed up early on the Barack website. I do get about 5 a day from them, though. Asking for more money - you have tons of it, I'm not really sure why you need any more of my piddly donations.
Is your cell phone your listed number? If so, that is why they are bothering you.
Oh, eclaires - Hilarie's girly version of the shirt in your siggie gets here tomorrow. JUST in the nick of time, huh? Can't WAIT to put her in her election day shirt...and then post it here and on my facebook page
stcroix - the weird part is that NO my cell phone is NOT my listed number. In fact, I have no idea how they got it. We have a home number, and my cell phone is in my husband's name but they ask for me when they call my cell phone.
I can only guess that maybe they got my info from when I registered to vote b/c I am newly registered here since the last presidential election.
MH has gotten 2 Obama mailers, and he's a registered Republican. I guess they figure he's in a demographic that might switch? Not sure.
Oh and YAY for Vote shirts! Glad she got hers just in time!

We keep getting these stupid "don't forget to vote" postcards from the Republican party with a bunch of propaganda on the front. The latest was about how Democrats don't support our troops. Right. They are all addressed to DH, and I don't think he's registered for either party. Since I'm registered Democrat, I guess they don't bother with me.
I would be so annoyed if I kept getting phone calls. Do people really wait until the day of the election to decide their vote?

I'd be annoyed if ANYONE called my cell phone that many times in an hour and a half, much less a politician (or a politician's supporters). That's crazy.

You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
That happened to Chris in CA because he was registered independent. So annoying!!
I'm seriously considering going to a movie Tues night and avoiding all election coverage.

I haven't gotten a call. I am kind of hurt. You must live in a swing state. I was undecided until McCain picked Palin.
I just can't vote for her (too religious, too conservative and McCain is too old for me not to care about the VP).

I get calls to my cell and home phone. DH and I are both registered republicans too.
I can't wait for Wed.
