I had a uncomplicated vaginal delivery and am very ready to start working out. I'm nursing but the lbs are not falling off like thy did with my other two wherei lost so much in the first two weeks. Is there a downside to working out too early? I feel like I need the energy boost too.
Re: Two weeks on wed- ready to start exercising
I'm waiting at least until I stop bleeding. I get sore after holding my toddler for too long or if I've been up and moving around a lot during the day. I'm pretty sure I would be wrecked if I hopped on the treadmill at this point. I did tear and have stitches though, so that is a big part of it.
The downside to working out too early is that there isn't any way to tell if your innards are healed yet. You had an open wound for a while where the placenta detached and even if you didn't have stitches or something, doesn't mean that those wounds are healed yet.
I have no idea how much weight I've lost since we don't own a scale. I plan on going back to Weight Watchers when DD is about 4 weeks, so I'll find out then.
Yeah, patella is right about the wound where the placenta detached.. what does your OB say about your working out this soon? Mine said I can do my pregnancy gym routine, as it was low-impact (no running), as soon as I felt ok.
I had a 1st degree tear and some stitches, but I've stopped bleeding, and my recovery seems faster this time than with DS#1. That said, my gym workout yesterday was pretty low-key. Felt great to be moving again tho:)
