If we have two boys, they will be named Thomas and William. However, we are having a difficult time finding a first name for a girl to go with those. Our last name is a 3-syllable name starting with an L- and ending in -er. The FN needs to go with the MN of Freyja as its family tradition of an F- MN and Freyja honors DH's Scandinavian heritage.
Our current ideas are
Elise Freyja
Corinne Freyja
Aeri Freyj**
**this is more wishful than realistic
We cannot use Reina bc it is to rhyme-y with Freyja nor Lydia bc it is too similar to our last name. Any other suggestions or do you prefer one of the already given names?
Re: Girl name to go with Thomas and William (sibset)
I really like Corrine.
Elise is boring in my opinion.
I don't like Aeri.
I'm not a fan of any of them personally, I guess from your list Corinne would be my first choice. Other options that might work:
Claire
Cora
Katherine/Catherine
Blythe
Aeri is a transliterated Korean name that can be pronounced Air-ee or, when emphasis is placed on the r, as Edd-ee. Its more of a guilty pleasure sort of name that I love but probably wouldn't ever use.
I do like Elizabeth too.
DH has already vetoed Blythe. poo.
My cousin is Thomas, his sister is Evelyn. I think that fits with your style, and I think the names sound nice together.
If my sister has a boy, he will be William. They have a girl named Laurel. I also think Laurel would be nice, but not sure how the alliteration would be with you.
Thomas and William are strong classic names, and I think any classic girl's name could fit as long as it flows with Freya.
I like Elise and Corinne equally. I like pp's suggestions of Elizabeth, Abigail, and Evelyn. Other traditional names:
Anneliese
Bridget
Catherine
Susannah
Rosalie, Rose, Roselyn
Julianne
Rebecca
Sylvie
Gabrielle
Marian
The alliteration isn't bad, but my name is Laura and would make for confusing times. Evelyn is pretty, but I have a hard time picturing it on a little girl. And as much as I like nn's for boys, I'm not too fond of them for girls; so calling her Evie is out of the question.
