What to bring neighbor?

My neighbor is having her 4th baby soon and I'd like to bring them dinner. Do I bring something I'm good at making (like enchiladas) or do I go for something super kid friendly since her 3 boys are under age 7 (like baked mac and cheese)?? I'm open to suggestions, and I need side and dessert ideas as well!

OH! And her husband has 2 teens from a previous marriage that come over a few nights per week, so I guess I should plan to cook for 7 people!

Re: What to bring neighbor?

  • I would go with the enchiladas. Who's to say if her kids are picky - I know DS freaking loves enchiladas and all things Mexican. :) Or, anything else you're good at making - no need to try something new that may not work out!

Are you bringing dinner for the particular night, or are you bringing something that needs to be freezed?

When I see her come home with the baby, I will say "Don't make dinner plans for tomorrow, I'm bringing something over"

  • I'd go ahead and stick with the enchiladas and you can do rice and/or beans as a side, or you can make calabacitas (basically a zucchini/corn mix). You could make some guac and bring over a bag of chips, too.
  • I agree, make the enchiladas. Yummy over picky. FWIW-both of my kids love enchiladas!
