Cloth Diapering

Fit trouble with double stuffing

My one piece diapers are a mix of Kawaii and Fuzzibunz one size.  Since we started double stuffing I've had a heck of a time getting a good fit.  The diapers seem to want to droop and I have a lot of gapping around the legs.  It happens with both but it is worse with the fuzzinbunz.  Has any one else noticed this?  Any tips on getting a better fit?  TIA

  • Are you double stuffing with microfiber?  If so I'd suggest trying hemp inserts. They're thin and more absorbent than MF.

  • I agree about the hemp. We triple stuff our nighttime BG 4.0's though, and recently we were having a lot of trouble with it gapping around DD's waist and wicking onto her jammies. So we started putting a fleece soaker, even just a single layer one, over the diaper. Helps keep it in place and we haven't had any leaks that way.

  • I went through so many insert/fabric combinations trying to find the right ones to stuff my pockets for overnight. In the end I just couldn't find anything that wouldn't gap at the legs and leak. That is when we had to make the switch to fitteds with wool.

This combination has been amazing for us, and so much more breathable!

  • I cannot use microfiber ON for that same reason - I stuff with one hemp and one bamboo if I use a pocket at night.

Thanks for the feedback.  I was hoping to be done buying CD supplies, but I think I will try some alternative fibres.  We are using microfiber now.  I may get a few hemp or bamboo and try one microfiber and one natural fibre.
