DIY Sling help

I am in desperate need of a baby carrier (high maintenance 2 year old and a 5 month old) and I think I've settled on a ring sling. I live in a very warm climate so I am planning on making a mesh water sling. The only thing I'm having trouble deciding on is whether to use aluminum or nylon rings. We live near the beach and will probably be spending a good amount of time in the pool too.

Also, can anyone tell me how easy or difficult it is to nurse in a ring sling?
