My doctor said 3 months but recommended 6 months (I think both for physical and emotional healing). She said they don't like consecutive c-sections to less than 1 year apart (in my case I was so early I had a classical incision on mu uterus which requires repeat csections from here on out).

My doctor suggested a year, both for emotional and physical reasons. He said in our case he thinks the strain of TTC would be unneeded stress for us. I think he is right.
I think she said anytime really, but she recommended at least1 year if I wanted to try for a VBAC, and 6 months if I was ok with a repeat. She really did stress at least 6 months, just that it wouldn't be the end of the world if it happened sooner, just a little more risky. I am sort of glad I had someone tell me I "had" to wait (I know I didn't really have to listen), it was nice to not really have the pressure on myself that I had to make a decision, that I just wasn't "allowed". I hope that made sense.

Cherry...I know what you mean about not being "allowed", it is allowing us to heal more emotionally also, otherwise I wonder if we would have made a decision about ttc too quick. My dr said the same things as the others, Jacob was my second c-section, so I have to have a c-section again regardless, so we will prob wait a couple of more months. Thnx girls
My doctor told me 6 months but my MFM said 3 would be fine you are healed after 3 . Plus he knew i was almost 39 and I wasn't about to wait to long.

The dr. told us 1 year as well to make sure we were both emotionally and physically healthy.
