Hey Ladies...
It's been several months and I'm not sure how many people who remember me are still on this board (although I do see some people I remember) and I know that a few of my closer bumpies have graduated! (Woohoo!!)
I wanted to do a quick update for everyone following our story...
After 3 failed IUIs, 10 failed embryos and news that while it's likely Nicole's eggs it's possible that the issues might be related to her uterus as well Nicole and I have decided to bump up an option we never thought we'd get to: my best friend and Groomslady in our wedding is going to be our surrogate. Of course, this is more like a planned adoption as neither my wife nor I will be genetically related to the child (or children) but at this point we don't care. We are going to use our DS for a medicated IUI. She is very fertile at least she was. Both of her kids were oops babies and at least one was when she was switching to a different b/c. Of course that was 10 years ago. She is 37, but woman that age get pregnant all the time....and at this point she has a better chance than Nicole.
We've talked to an attorney and based on the state the baby will be born in I can be listed on the birth cert bc I am the intended father. The only issue with this is that if she changes her mind right after then I might be on the hook for child support, but I'm confident that a DNA test will clear that right up! We totally trust our friend and she has told us several times that the baby will be ours no problem, that she doesn't want any more kids and she is only going to do this is we take the baby. We, of course, can't wait to have a baby!
I'm really hoping that we get pregnant soon and I can move officially to a pregnancy board. For now, I feel like I don't really fit anywhere, but if I'm posting I will likely do it in adoption until we are officially pregnant (through the surrogate).
As far as our foster care journey:
We are in our 6th of 10 weeks of classes. We have already passed our background clearances and our interview! We have finger printing scheduled for next Saturday and then still need a TB test and a home safety inspection. It's very realistic that we could have kids in here by the need of May!
I wish you ladies all the best!! Know that I am still thinking about your journeys!!
Chris
