The area by the snaps keeps getting wet and therefore making his clothes wet. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I have other diapers (BG, FB, Tots Bots, etc.) that I wash in the same manner (cold rinse, hot with Tide powder (no additives) (reco'd by Jillian's Drawers) that are not having any issues. I tried putting another insert in and it didn't make a difference. I love everything else about the diapers. I'm hoping I can find a fix.
Re: Swaddlebee Simplex button area gets wet and causes wet clothes
It may not be a frequency of change issue. I had this same problem with my heavy wetting boy. He would leak as soon as he urinated, so it wasn't an issue of the diaper needing to be changed more frequently. I have the same issue with pockets for the same reason...his stream is heavy and forceful and he'll leak if there isn't something there to soak it up right away.
This is one reason why I tight the swaddlebees would work so well...they have the cotton soaker. But...there isn't enogh fluff up front. I found that he didn't leak if I layer the attached soaker on top (rather than tucking it in the sleeve), and if I placed a folded cloth wipe in the front.
I love these diapers otherwise...they are super cute and nice and trim...but ha ing to add the wipe was slightly irritating.
FWIW I find the bum genius elementals to work well for us as a going out diaper that is nice and trim. I use prefolds at home.
