DS keeps getting redness right near where his cheeks meet, and only there. It clears up when I used heavy doses of the extra strength desitin but I'd like to find something cloth diaper safe that will do the trick. I used thristies booty love for awhile but then this developed, did the desitin then when back to it (when I ran out I started using coconut oil but only did so for a couple days) and now it's back.
For the wipe solution I was using lavendar castile soap, olive oil and TTO with water. He got a fungal infection so I switched to aloe vera, apple cider vingar and TTO plus water.
I've ordered CJ's and Angel Baby because I want to trouble shoot. I'm just frustrated because he is only getting any redness in that spot, and the other day it was so raw it bled a tiny bit and it made my heart break!
Also if anyone has any idea what could be triggering this that would be helpful too. I think we're being gentle when we wipe him, and I wipe him the same everywhere and again, it's only in this one spot. I feel like if it were an ingredient somewhere in something he would be bothered in other places too. TIA!
Re: butt problems
what dipes are you using? are they natural or synthetic fibers? If he's in prefolds, you might want to try a hair dryer on cold at change time, or wipe him off with a dry cloth after changing.
It sounds like it's possible he's still staying wet in there and it's just rubbing his bum raw. You could also try a fleece liner on top of natural fibers.
I've got no other ideas if he's in synthetics with a stay dry layer.
Make sure that his bottom is completely dry before you apply any cream. I bought a cheap hair dryer from Walmart that is DD's hair dryer. Whenever she has any redness or a rash we make sure to dry her bottom on cool to make sure there is no wetness.
You can also try baking soda in his bath water to help heal the rash. Plenty of diaper free time will also help to dry up the rash. Just lay down a think towel underneath him to catch any messes. It's much easier when they're not too mobile! I would also suggest Organic virgin coconut oil. I've found that it does a great job of clearing up redness, but also moisturizing the skin.

Exactly there. Not too much between them. It sounds like when I use prefolds (which I do during the day) I will have to make sure he's dryer. Hopefully that will help. I can also put fleece liners in regularly, not just when I use a non-CD safe cream. I have plenty of non-prefolds that I could use during the day too to give him a break.
