Almost three, still wearing diapers for naps

DS has been PT since right after he turned two (will be three in July), but still uses diapers for naps and at night. I'm not so worried about the night diaper, but do your kiddos still wear diapers for naps too? He sleeps between 1.75 and 3 hours, depending on the day -- and they're always at least a little wet when he wakes up. TIA!

Re: Almost three, still wearing diapers for naps

  • Most kids' bodies are not developmentally ready to night train until age 3-4.  My DD still wears a Pull Up to bed.  I'm not worried at all.

  • My 3 yr old is just recently PTing, so he still wears a Pull Up  for naps and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

  • DD will be 3 in June and still wears a diaper for naps and night time. A lot of times she wakes up dry or almost dry from naps but she FREAKS if she has an accident in her bed, so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

  • I am a preschool teacher and teach 3-4 year olds...about half of them still need a pull-up at naptime.

  • My DS potty trained right at two as well and we recently started putting him down for nap without a diaper. He was almost three. He did great for a month, then regressed when he would sleep really soundly. He is three years one month now and for the most part he stays dry during nap. I still throw  a diaper on him just in case though.

  • Our pedi said kids up to the age of 5 may need a pull up at night. They are just not physically ready. DS still wearsa pull up for naps and over night. Over night is normally really full in the morning.

  • I'll trade DS wakes up dry in the morning and from naps but will only use the potty at nursing homes and a few stores,  He will not use our potty or his little one

  • Ds didn't pt until like two months before three, but he hasn't used diapers for naps since then. He does have an accident maybe one out of ten nap times. Still wears pull ups at night and they are wet in the morning.

  • My daughter stays dry during naps if I have her go to the bathroom right before she goes down.  They don't put a diaper on her for nap at her school.  though I do put one on her at night, though for the most part she stays dry (and she usually ends up in my bed ).
