seed packet favors

my family is throwing a shower for us but i am taking care of the favors... we are doing a coed bbq and it was suggested that i put out seed packets with a cute poem about the baby growing on them. it goes with the outdoors theme and we have a lot of gardeners in the group

any suggestions about where i can find bulk seed packets, what plants may be cute... and if anyone feels creative do you have a gender neutral poem about a growing baby? ive been looking suff up but i was just curious about anything that you guys may think of, tia!

I would suggest doing a perennial flower (one that blooms every year) this way you get a little more bang for your buck. Depending on where you live the kind you choose could differ - some do well only where it is warm and some do well where it is a little cooler. I would suggest going to a local nursery and asking someone there what might thrive the best. They might be able to sell you bulk packets there (or a big bag and you can make your own packets) but if not I know amazon does sell some bulk seeds (ordered a bunch for my sisters wedding).

You should do a little research about when various seeds need to be planted so you can get something that will still grow after the shower. I have no further suggestion about what grows earlier or later as every plant I touch wilts almost instantly..except maybe zinnias.

I used to plant a patch of zinnias in my parents' garden and they seemed to grow. That makes me think anyone can grow them since I should never garden ever.  I think they showed up at the end of the summer which would be cute if you have an August baby and give flowers that bloom around the same time. I'm from the Midwest so that should give you an idea about the climate. Cute idea! I may steal it!

If you have a Christmas Tree Store near you they are great! I bought pots there to plant flowers for my shower.

i love that place and almost forgot about it! i will try there, we are having a big shower and i need to find a way to do this without breaking the bank

If you want something a little more custom, try American Meadows.  They have he cutest seed packets that can be birth announcements, wedding favors, or pretty much anything.  Great company owned by two young dads.  Great products!
