Cloth Diapering

how do I prep new wool pants?

I just got these (in green :D) for DD because she's a super night wetter

Do I have to lanolinize them right away?  I know I will eventually but I thought wool was supposed to come with some natural lanolin...

I had just planned to get them wet and then felt them 10 minutes at a time in the dryer until they fit her.  Is that right?

This is our first wool purchase and I'm ready to get it on her but want to do it right.  Thanks!

Going to a cloth diaper resale today. Must exercise restraint!  Any stuff you really love that I should look for?  I'm going to try to find another wool cover and some more OS pockets because that's what we love, but I'm looking for more night stuff and anything fun that you'd recommend.

Thanks, CDers!

  • There's no need to felt them, besides the more felted they are the less they'll stretch and they won't fit as long.  Felting generally hurts resale value as well.

and yes you'll need to lanolize them first.  Most covers do not come pre-lanolized (unless you're buying from a smaller WAHM that has time to do so and then it will say in the listing)
