Infant/toddler swing to hang indoors?

Has anyone seen an infant/toddler swing (like the plastic little tykes kind) that can hang indoors?  We have no place outside to put one and I really want one for DS.  Our yard is too small for a swingset, too.

So I was browsing the internet trying to find if there are any kind for indoors?  One that can hang in a doorway or something?  If they can make infant jumpers that are made for the doorway, I don't see why they can't make infant swings that do the same, but I'm not having much luck finding one.

I would prefer not to have one that actually screws into the ceiling, but I'm afraid that's the only option for us if we do an indoor swing...I just don't know that I can convince DH to let me screw into the ceiling or doorway to hang a swing....he'll tell me to just go to the park!

  • I'm in the same situation. I was thinking about getting one of those pull up bars that you use in the doorway and attaching an outdoor little tykes swing to that. It might be terribly dangerous...or genius....

This is what I'm thinking about doing now, too.  Someone posted a swing from amazon on my July board thread about this and it was a tension rod with an infant swing.  They were made to go together, but somewhat pricey.  So now I'm thinking the pull up bar with the little tykes swing.

  • We hung the little tykes swing from the wooden beams in our basement.
  • I got a doorway swing/jumper at target. I think it's called the Jenny Jumper.

  • Yep, Johnny / Jenny jump up. Great for traveling too. But not always great in narrow doorway, they can knock their head. Need to supervise.
