Are you using a pacifier on your baby? If so, when did you/will you introduce it? Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding? I tried to hold off on giving her one, but she was using my breast as a pacifier and my nipples were getting SO SORE...since giving it to her yesterday, she slept MUCH better last night and was MUCH calmer. She doesn't use it all the time, just when she is fussy...so far it has been a huge help. We are using the soothie. Introduced it at 1 week of age.

Re: are you using a pacifier?
Edie was BF'd and we introduced at the hospital. She never had nipple confusion and gave up her binky at 3mo when she got her first cold. We tried all the pacifiers, but she'd only take a Soothie:
Adeline is FF, and we also introduced in the hospital. She wasn't taking to the Soothies, so I went to Target and bought a bunch of other kinds. She took to the MAM brand. It didn't hurt that she's a St Paddy's day baby and theyhad one with a shamrock:

Odie is using one - since his circumcision at the hospital. My OB said there have been enough studies done to prove that pacifiers won't affect BFing like a bottle may.
It keeps him happy, which keeps us happy
DS had one in the NICU after he was born and I was worried he wouldn't latch but he latched on the breast like a pro even though I didn't see him for 9 hours after birth. Since the hospital I didn't really give him a soother much... but recently started because he would root like he was hungry and if I put him on the breast he would just nibble and treat me like a soother. So we started giving him a soother a couple days ago and it's been a godsend. He has no nipple confusion. He takes it and then spits it out as he falls asleep and he'll also spit it out if he's hungry. I hoping he takes to a bottle well too!
:: ignore my ticker- she was two weeks yesterday ::
DD HATES all pacifiers! We tried to introduce earlier this week because she was pacifying at the boob and she hates them all! The soothes made her gag
I feel like they are to big for her... They are all the smallest size available for each brand. We're going to keep trying here and there only because she won't always have the breast to pacify on. Also, I'm scared she won't take a bottle either... Which she'll need to eventually when I go back to work. If anybody has advice, feel free! I've tried when she's calm, fussy, awake and asleep. I've rubbed it on her lip and tried angling it upward. Nothing seems to work... I don't want to force it on her but like I said she won't always have the boob to comfort suck on and this makes me nervous for bottles..

We asked for one at the hospital. I felt guilty, because we were trying to bf, but she just wanted to suck on something all the time. Which I guess I should have expected due to the fact she was always sucking on her hands during ultrasounds. lol.
I don't know what kind it is. It looks like the same material as the soothie, but it's shaped differently.
ETA: oh, I guess it is a soothie. It looks like this.
