My boss made me feel better about my naming failures

She said not to worry they couldn't think of names either. When her daughter was born they had to go through the baby name book and ended up naming her Amanda, so that was how far they got.

Re: My boss made me feel better about my naming failures

  • Thank your boss for me too! HA! I just wrote to pack the Baby Name book for the hospital. Hadn't thought of that, but the way we are going, we will need it!

  • When my SIL had her youngest they were using a whiteboard to brainstorm name ideas. When DH and I went to visit hours after the baby was born there was still no name. They did settle on a name - and it could not be more perfect for her daughter.

Just an odd suggestion - check out some vintage or older naming books (depending on your style) - they have some really great suggestions and are a great way to get the discussions going.

Also https://nymbler.com/ is a great site for finding names that are 'your style' since you can add names to your 'inspiration' list and it will generate suggestions based on those names.

  • One of my sisters was nameless for 2 days in the hospital, the nurses called her "Cutie Baby". My mom was watching Jerry Springer, because we're classy like that, and a transvestite stripper named Cierra came on. So, my sister ended up named Sierra.

Again, we're pretty classy. I was named after a male horse my mom loved called Nicholas (I'm Nichole).
