My Baby is finally here!

I had my baby girl on 04/10/12!!! I went into horribly painful back labor Saturday 4/7/12 at 8pm after spending all day working on the garden. My contractions were excruciatingly painful and I was dilated at 1cm until my doctors appointment Monday at 11am when she told me I was finally 3cm and had me admitted. Valentina Marie Bourassa was born Tuesday (4/10/12) at 8:09am! She had dropped and was stuck in the canal. Here heart rate kept dropping and my contractions disappeared off the chart, I had to tell the doctor when it was time to push! My doctor informed me that she was possibly 8lbs. and stuck because of my small frame. She gave me a choice that I would have to either have her clavicle broken and vacuum her out of me which could cause a hematoma of the head or I would have to have an emergency C-section!!! I had only been pushing for 20min.!!! But because of the dropping heart rate if I didn't get her out soon those were my options. Needless to say I was so freaked out 15min. later she popped out at 6lbs. 11oz., even the doctor was speechless as her weight estimate was way off. Unfortunately, my husband wasn't given the chance to cut the cord because they had to immediately take my baby as she had a lot of fluid in her lungs. She is a super healthy baby and safe and sound at home! I couldn't be more thrilled!! Although I am missing my sleep! lol!

Wow, that's an amazing story! They are telling me that my baby was already over 8 lbs 2 weeks ago, and that he might get stuck in the canal. It's amazing what our bodies can do when we are motivated enough

Congrats! Valentina is my grandmother's name - it is lovely : )
