I was on a high dosage of BP meds for 2 months.  Never had the headaches but they did make me stay in the hopsital for 7 days post delivery due to it be so high.  Eventually it went down and all was back to normal.

It can take up to 12 weeks!!  I was bad about taking my BP meds after the babies delivered, and my BP was 156/105 at my 2 week PP check.  Oopsie.  It explained my headaches.  I knew I should have been checking my BP at home, but I was just really focused on the babies.

By 6 weeks PP I went off of my meds and I've been fine ever since.

Narcotics and caffeine is what helped my headaches.

I am 6 weeks pp and I was taking 3 labetalol and 1 procardia, I am now down to 1 of each and my blood pressure is still a little on the low side and its causing headaches, it sucks because I get headaches if its too high and headaches if its too low, its just finding the right balance of the meds. I accidentally forgot to take my pills 3 days in a row and my bp started to rise, so I know I need the meds for now. Good luck!

*most* people have it go down by 12 weeks pp, but some of us unlucky ones don't.  i'm a year out and now diagnosed as chronic.  make sure you keep up on your meds, and when they ween you off, keep checking to make sure you don't shoot back up.

My first it took 6 weeks for it to go back down to normal. My second it was fine within 2 weeks.  Drink water and rest as much as you can! I would ask your doctor if they can give you anything. My doctor gave me tylenol with caffeine and some kind of relaxer in it and it helped a lot. It made it so I was able to relax and  get some much needed sleep which I think is what helped get my bp down.

Mine took about 4-5 months to go back to normal. Now I'm labeled as "chronic" because as soon as I became pregnant, my BP spiked...I continued my meds and went back to my pre-pregnancy lifestyle (working out, etc) and it went down on it's own. The body is a crazy thing...

I took a total of 1200mg of medicine split between labatalol and procardia. Over the next two years, we worked on getting off the meds. My blood pressure finally went down when my DD turned 2! Yes, 2. I'm now pregnant again(22 weeks) and so far so good. We are expecting it to go up again in the 3rd trimester.

I am also one of those "lucky" ones who hasn't had my BP go down...  #1 was born a year ago tomorrow and #2 is 14 weeks in.  I"m on 90 mgs of procardia once a day - and it seems to be controlling the BP for #2 so far.
