I swear, DS goes thru a pair of jeans every couple months. They get holes in the knees. I am no sewer and not thrilled at the idea of patches but if It seemed simple enough I suppose I would. What do you all do with their jeans? Throw them out? Patch?
Re: Moms of boys: what do you do with worn out jeans?
I'm not a huge patch fan either, but hate to toss the otherwise fine jeans. I've gotten some of those rectangular iron on patches and iron them on the inside of the jeans.
I try to catch the worn area before it becomes a hole and iron on the patch inside the jeans and it helps prevent the hole from starting, but also doesn't have a noticeable patch. I've also done it on holes that have already broken through, where it's kind of like a shredded area but not a gaping hole. It's been working well so far! DS is just past 2, and very hard on his jeans!
I usually get them from CVS or the grocery store in the home/laundry section. You can probably also get them at a fabric store, Target, Walmart, etc. Here's a pic:

My daughter plays tough, she loves these patches!
