C-sections

10 weeks from today.....

I will be laying on an operating table being cut open, Yikes! With my first I had an ecs which I was totally unconscious for, this time, it will be very different. I know when its coming, unless of course LO decides to come earlier, so I'm freaking out! Lol getting anxious and scared about the whole thing! Did anyone else freak out about a rcs for the weeks leading up to it?

Re: 10 weeks from today.....

  • I get a little anxious (and mine is 2 weeks from today!) but I was conscious for my emergency CS so I know a little what to expect. (Everyone is different but if it makes you feel better I had a great CS experience- actually asked if they had started cutting yet when they were in the middle of breaking my water/about to pull him out).

I just keep reminding myself of how quickly it was over and then focusing on being in recovery with my little girl in my arms! Just keep thinking of the amazing reward you get at the end :)

  • I was conscious for my 1st but just wanted to say I go in July2nd for my scheduled C & I'm nervous already...Not to mention Dr called last nite to tell me I have gestational diabetes, so now I'm really freaked....

  • I think most people are at least a bit nervous, leading up to a rcs, but just think of how many things will be so much better for you this time around. Your H will get to be there with you, you'll get to see your LO as soon as they're born and (depending on hospital policy) you should get to hold LO, with your DH's help, pretty quick. You'll get to BF sooner (if you choose to) and get up and moving sooner. You get to experience your child's birth and that's something to look forward to! I totally understand the nerves about the whole surgery aspect but I bet you will do great. After a nightmare of a first c/s and a very rough recovery I just had a wonderful rcs in Nov (and recovery was a breeze)! It was such a positive experience and I'm so thankful i ended up that way, rather than the vbac I had hoped for.

  • With DD I had a ECS & the only thing I didn't like was that I could feel my spinal...I screamed so loud DH thought they started without him! So this time I was absolutely TERRIFIED of getting my shot in the back from the moment I got pregnant that's all I could think about. I explained my fears to my OBGYN  as well as the dr & nursing staff the day of my CS & they were all really understanding. They talked me through it all & it was much better. My recovery with both was fine so I have no complaints there. But to answer your question yes I was VERY nervous! But I assure you they know what they are doing & you will be fine:)
