Acadia Owners - a random question

I recall several posters saying that they have Acadias, so I figured this would be a good place to ask this question.

Do you have cloth or leather?

If you have cloth, what color did you get?  I know that I don't want leather.  However, I am torn between the gray or ebony interior.

Pros/Cons to what you have.

TIA!

  • I have the ebony color fabric interior. Pros: it's pretty! Cons: milk shows up really well!! That being said, I wouldn't get any other color. I love it!!

Is there a reason you don't want leather? I thank heavens for my leather all.the.time.  It wipes clean so easily and is more durable.  Plus, it doesn't absorb the smell nearly as much.  I swear that every SUV/minivan that I have been in with small children and cloth interiors smells HORRIBLE.  Milk soaks in, goes bad, and.....  eew.  Even my most "cleanly" friend...   minivan with cloth and it is GROSS.

  • Ditto on the leather. I got the SL & GM did not offer leather as an option, so I paid the dealership extra to install it. I can't imagine cloth seats with 2u2 (or even just one baby!) so to me it was worth it. We just got the acadia this month so obviously we haven't had any big messes yet, but in theory cloth seemed like a bad idea to me. I've only had leather in cars, but when DS would puke everywhere in the car (think exorcist) it smelled intensely disgusting. It took a while to wipe the seats down & I still would have to air the car out. Cloth seats would be a nightmare.

Thanks for the input!  I was leaning towards the ebony.  It looks like we could be picking up my new car this weekend.  I am so excited.

To those saying I'll regret cloth, I know that I do not want leather.  My last two vehicles have been cloth and I have not regretted it.  I had leather before that.  While we didn't have kids then, I feel 'enh' about it.  The only way I would get leather again would be if it had the air conditioned seats.  (And I am not going up to the trim line where that would be available.)  I fully expect to have to get my car detailed here and there as I always have.  We do have a no milk policy in the car.  So far, our son only drinks water while we are driving.  This has included several road trips.

  • OP... FWIW I LOVE my cloth seats. They aren't like the cloth seats I've encountered in previous cars. When liquid spills on it it just rolls over rather than soaks in. Of course if it doesn't get cleaned up quickly it will soak in but I haven't had a problem. Sure there are milk stains on my seats from my DD but they are just superficial. They haven't actually soaked in. I couldn't imagine leather. If I had leather I would have absolutely have ripped them by now. I have heated seats and I LOVE them! If I had leather seats my legs would surely stick to them with shorts on. I wouldn't get leather seats even if they were an option (which they weren't).

Good luck with your car! I LOVE my Acadia! It's my favorite car I've ever had. I have this car until my kids don't need me to cart them around. It's an awesome vehicle! So exciting!
  • We went with cloth due to value for money. I flat out wanted ebony until I saw evry little thing in one of the vehicles. All the lint that was stuck to it. I ended up with the opal white and agreed that the grey cloth did look better.

I don not regret the grey AT ALL!!! its a little brighter and I don't feel like it shows thinks up much at all!

p.s regardless of the seat color I am in with love my car!!  lol
