I think that the new baby is waking up DD. Even though we keep our door and her door closed, he's a loud little guy. She been acting extra tired over the last few days even though her bed time has been consistent. I think we need to do something to block the sound but I'm not sure what. I"m going back and forth between a sound machine or buying a small fan to put next to her bed. Can anyone one recommend an inexpensive sound machine?
Re: Sound machines
We've been using this one for years:

It's great for blocking out the garbage trucks and other noise from the street.
I've been using a white noise machine since birth, it blocks out the TV, dogs barking, etc.
I love my Graco Sound Machine and we use the rain settings. I'l be getting another for LO #2.

This exactly. If I travel, it goes with us. I'll definitely be using it for the next one.
We just bought a white noise cd ($12), and play it in a cd player on repeat all night. With a cd player, you can adjust the volume as loud or soft and you want it. Some of the other sound machines only play for like an hour, and sometimes you need noise to be blocked out all night! Especially if there is a baby in the house

I have been using a CD player in LO's room since the day he came home from the hospital. I have about lullaby 10 CD's and 2 white noise CD's that I rotate about once a month and play it on repeat all so it plays all night or during his nap.
