Lily Anne was born at 8:51 AM via c-section. Her heart started having problems handling contractions and, as it turns out, she was trying to enter the world ear first. They did not like her oxygen levels and kept her in the nursery to a good part of the day. She also had trouble regulating her temperature. I was finally wheeled to the nursery to see her around 3 this afternoon and at 5 they suggested I try Kangaroo Care to help her get her temp up as nothing they were doing was working. Her temp went up from 97.1 to 98.6 and she nursed like a pro. I thought things were going to be all right until an hour later a nurse came in from the nursery and said that her oxygen levels had dropped again and that she had a heart murmur. They also said a chest x-ray showed that her heart was a little too large. They recommended sending her to the Children's Hospital and that hospital agreed. They sent a helicopter for her and I was finally able to get a wheel chair so I could go back and see her again with DH. She's gone now and we are waiting to hear from her new doctor. I have had so little sleep and am simply terrified about what is happening to my little girl so far away. I'm hoping my OB will discharge me soon so I can go be with her. All your thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
