How many naps per day? Clicky

DS wakes up between 8 and 9 and takes his first nap between 11 and 12. His second nap can then get pretty late which then throws off his bedtime and he already isn't a great sleeper. I'm wondering if I should only let him nap once during the day but I don't know if he's too young for that?

I'm curious to see what the clicky reveals.[Poll]

Can I get a SS? Lol. I think M is transitioning to one nap, but it isn't clear cut at this point. Yesterday she took two. Today she took one. I'm trying to just follow her cues at the moment

I clicked 2, but about 1/3 of the time she only has 1 nap.

I thought A was transitioning to one but she still does so much better with two...when I can get her down for both. Some days she's awesome and some days it's a fight!

I'm still trying to get 2, but with daycare he only gets one. On weekends at home I can sometimes get a morning nap, but usually a really good afternoon nap. We can sometimes get a late afternoon nap (after daycare) but I do have to be careful about that one ruining bedtime.

Selfishly I have him on a one nap schedule.  Otherwise, I'd never leave my house because it would be baby nap, toddler nap, baby nap.  He does well with one nap though.  They both go down about 12:30 and sleep  for 2-3 hours.  He STTN too, 12 hours consistantly.

DD dropped down to one nap right after she turned 9 months. She moved her morning nap later and it lengthened. She now naps for about 2 to 2.5 hours every afternoon around noon.

I know it's early, but she did it on her own, so I'm just following her lead!

I'm so jealous! Even with his one nap he's only sleeping 1/2 hour to an hour TOPS.

He often takes 3 at home on weekends, but 2 at most at daycare. Sometimes he only takes 1 midday nap there, but he comes home exhausted those days. I said 2 since that's an average day.

I'm worried she's moving to only one nap- and I'm not ready, LOL. For the last six days she's completely refused to take any afternoon nap, either at daycare or at home.  Unfortunately that means she's awake from like noon (when she wakes from her morning nap) until bedtime at 8pm.  She actually doesn't get all that cranky, but it seems like a long stretch for her to be awake.  I'm hoping it's just a phase and with some persistence, she'll go back to two.... wishful thinking?

This is us exactly as well.  DS does 3 naps normally but sometimes will skip the evening nap.  We have no problem with him sleeping 12-13 hours during the night.  Although the last 2 nights he has not STTN.

I need a SS.  It depends on what time he wakes up.  If 7 or earlier he takes 3 usually and if after 7, only 2.

In my experience and also what my pedi has said, they dont usually go to one nap until 15-16m....not much longer

this is us...we dont leave the house...James goes down around ten and up at noon...Jacob goes down at 130 and James goes back down around 3...by the time they get up again, its time to get ready for dinner...weekdays are looooooong.

Yep. Same here, except I am not sure if she is trying to transition or not. Some days its one, most its two. Just depends on her mood I guess!

7-7:30 every day.

This is pretty much us, but it started at about 8.5 months and he naps closer to 12:45, but it is a good 2+ hours. Sometimes he will wake early and fall back asleep for a good chunk if I don't go in to his room. He still has the odd extra catnap on longer trips in the car too (30+ mins), but I think it is boredom and being lulled to sleep...if he were home and playing he wouldn't be sleeping at those times.
