From what I can see, the hook and loop will be able to be used sooner because you can get them tighter, but the snaps look like they will withstand more use for a longer period of time
I have both and like both, but I prefer the aplix. It holds up very well and covers the entire front of the diaper. Some of my gro-vias are years old and they are fine. The laundry loops aren't really useful, I just fold the aplix back on itself. FWIW they are the only aplix diapers my LO hasn't ever tried to undo. You can get them converted to snaps down the line if you want by sending them back to gro-via (for a small charge).
But honestly, I find snaps to be a PITA with my LO. She can be a monster to change sometimes and aplix is sooo much faster. Plus she has a skinny waist and chunky thighs so fit can be difficult sometimes with snaps.

Grovia is the only applix that people love long-term. With that said, just as many people like snaps, so this one is truly personal choice. I went with all snaps for my stash because I just don't like applix personally, but wouldn't hate it if I had them.

We have both and DS still doesnt fit the snaps well at 8 weeks but he has been wearing his hook and loops for weeks. If I were to buy more, I would buy the h & l over the snaps.

I have both, and like both, but in general I prefer snaps. You can crossover the snaps in GroVia's, so I was actually able to get a pretty snug fit with them when he was younger.

I prefer GroVia snaps over aplix...but that's my general preference, too, because I hate how easily aplix looks worn and how it sticks and pulls on other items if anyone doesn't set the tabs up exactly right. (I do prefer aplix on Thirsties covers, though, just because the fit's easier to get right on those, and the aplix is easier to get stuck down so it doesn't stick to other stuff in the laundry.)
