I want to ask my m/w to do mine at my 39 week appt. Does it hurt?

For me, it didn't hurt. However my cervix is still really high so it felt like she was all the way up in my throat which was very uncomfortable.

I just had mine stripped too!!  I'm scheduled to be induced on Friday, so hopefully something starts happening before then!

Mine is too I believe. Posterior. Not effaced.

I'm not too concerned about not showing many signs of going into labor soon because my MW said after your first your body doesn't always go in order and can change quickly. 

Pretty sure that was a run-on sentence....

I had mine stripped 3 times...and so far nothin First time it was really uncomfortable, after that it didn't feel much different than a regular internal exam.

I am at 39 weeks, 5 days so I figured w/ being only two days away from my EDD to give it a shot...figured it would not hurt to give it a shot:)  I was a little scared at first b/c I had heard that it hurts a lot (I even made my husband hold my hand while they did it) but it really wasn't that bad, just uncomfortable.  After she was done, I was like, was that it? Here's hoping for some real labor pains tonight!

I had mine stripped at 38weeks when I was 1cm.  It really hurt me.  My husband had to remind me to breathe!  It caused some like cramping and spotting but two days later I lost my MP...I have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see where i'm at and if she does it again! She said she did mine to help start contractions and she was clear that it would most likely not put me into labor.

I had mine stripped at last weeks appointment (38w5d, 1cm 50% effaced and +3 station) and my MP came out the next day. But I've had no spotting, no increase in contractions (it's just been mild BH for weeks), basically no change at all other than losing my MP. I'm hoping they'll do it again at my appointment tomorrow and that I'll have DD this weekend!

I had mine done yesterday, I was 1 cm dilated and he stretched it to 3 cm but it bounced back...so far just some brown spotting and really mild cramps...Hopefully i'll see some action this week!
