My poor nips!!!

I shouldn't really complain. DD has a great latch, and I think the fact that DH is a boob guy prepared me a bit for all this BFing stuffEmbarrassed. But she has been SO hungry today. She must be going through a growth spurt. I finished nursing her around midnight and slept till about 3 when I got her up for another feeding. She hasn't stopped since!!! She'll eat for like 20 minutes, nap for 20-30 and then want more. I've tried waking her back up after the first and offering the second, but she'll be awake and just not want it. Probably because she's draining the heck out of the first. Now that I started her on gas drops, her tummy isn't as bad, so I guess she's making up for lost time, but DANG!! Since 3am, she's nursed 10 times.....it's only noon. Most of them are pretty good ones too...20+minutes. My BF app says I've nursed for over 3 hours already today. That's insanity!! On average, she feeds for 4 hours a day. My poor nipples may fall right off my body!! Right now, I've had an hour break and it's great!!! She's also out cold, so it's time for a nap because I certainly didn't sleep much last night!

    Do you have those gel pads you stick in the freezer for your nipples? Those were a godsend for me. They're reusable, so you rinse them when you're done and put them back in the freezer for next time!

    Ahh...thanks for reminding me!!! Mine are in the freezer now, I've just been waiting for Pig-arella to actually sleep so I could justify applying them!.

    I think I've got you beat. Lil man was up pretty much from 12-5 nursing.  I don't know how on earth there's any more milk in there!  I seriously thought for a second that my nipple was going to come off and we were going to have to go to the hospital!  I'm currently inhaling a bagel sandwich before it wakes again Stick out tongue

    My LO is going through a growth spurt as well. She's been rooting and wanting to nurse every hour and then nurses for a good 30mins. At her last feeding I seriously looked down at her and said, I'm not sure there is any left in here but here you go. Haha.

    However, she has been asleep for the past hour. We will see how long it lasts.
