I'm prepping my stash today. Does anyone else have this washer? If so any tips? I pressed the water plus button and the extra rinse. Will this create enough water? Thanks.
Hello fellow LG user. This is what I do, and I haven't had any problems yet.
I am anal and spray all my dirty dipes, even the ones that are just wet. I tell myself this helps pre-rinse them and increase the weight to trick the washer into using more water.
Once into the washer I do a Normal Quick Cycle warm/cold with the extra water and extra rinse options and No spin (once again to add more weight.)
Then I add my detergent a do a Cotton/heavy duty (whatever that option is called) on Hot/Cold with the extra water and extra rinse option.
However, for prepping, you don't need to "clean" them so I would just do a normal cycle if they are synthetic fibers. Remember to prep natural fibers separately and they will need to be washed several times. I just put those in with my other laundry for a few trips through the washer. GL.
The store where I ended up buying a different LG told me if you use both extra water and extra rinse, it uses less water overall so it can still remain "HE" I can only choose one or the other on mine, and choose extra water and run a second rinse. I have debated doing a quick wash in the beginning to get more weight in there but haven't decided yet.

I never use the water plus and I've never had any problems.
My normal wash routine is- rinse and spin on baby wear, then a full cycle on baby wear with the water adjusted to hot/cold instead of extra hot/cold with the extra rinse. I dry on the timed dry for about 40- 45 minutes on Medium
For prepping- if I'm prepping natural fibers I do a sanitary cycle with extra rinse and then 4-5 loads of the quick wash with an extra rinse. For all other prepping, like for new covers, pocket diapers, or microfiber inserts I just throw them in with a regular diaper load.
I start with a "Rinse and Spin" cycle. Then I wash on normal, doing hot/cold, with extra water and an extra rinse. (I haven't heard about it using less water). It's been working great so far. If I use bleach for some reason (damn yeast!) I will do another Rinse and Spin.
