The Today Show had a "green" segment showcasing eco-friendly products this morning and they included gDiapers as one of the products. They said it was the eco-friendly alternative to disposables. I feel like if they really wanted to show an eco-friendly cloth option, they could have shown organic bamboo CDs or something to that effect, but I guess it's a good thing that they had any cloth at all, right?
Re: gDiapers was on the Today Show
I bet we get triple the amount of questions about gdiapers in the next week.
I would also bet that gdiapers paid for that segment. The longer I cd, the more I just don't like the company in general. My real worry is that people will try the system, get turned off on cding and just not want to try any further.
Did they just show the disposable inserts? Or did they show the reusable ones?
AGREED.
They were in an environmental piece in the magazine American Baby, too.
This is what I was thinking, too. They didn't even mention the reusable inserts. They showed the covers and talked about the disposable inserts and then one of the hosts of the show mentioned that it was a cross between the "old" cloth diapers and the "modern" disposables.
::facepalm::

We could, and I think we talked about it for a while.
The real problem with doing something like that is that Gdiapers as a company has no problem sending their FB followers over to mess with posts like that. One time there was a simple little poll on this board about what people liked best (FB, BG, Gdiapers), and they had people coming over and voting for gdiapers. It was ridiculous. So eventually, that thread would be discovered and all the ardent followers would skew it to in favor of gdiaps.
Wow. That's ridiculous.
I have a love/hate relationship with gdiapers.
On one hand, they actually work well for us with the gcloth inserts, they are a local company (to me), and they get a lot of people interested in cloth.
On the other hand, they have some skanky business practices that lead to confusion for cloth newbies. Plus, they are to "rah-rah there are never any problems with our system you must be doing something wrong" instead of "let's trouble shoot the problem" on their website/customer service.
Wow. It's like a cult!
So I should just type up my standard response in Word and then copy n paste as needed?
They're whole customer service is based on the fact that YOU the user must be doing something wrong. Every leak is attributed to the fact that people can't put them on right. Then they go through this ridiculous list of steps so you can find that magical happy place where gdiapers don't leak. It's hard for them to comprehend that maybe it's the product (after all the covers aren't waterproof), and not the customer that has issues.
I saw the segment this morning. They probably paid for it. They said you can buy flush-able liners to either throw out, flush or compost.
Seems like more work. Why not just use cloth and wash? They should have had other options....like a real cloth diaper?
