Lawd no. Rarely do I pull the "I'm a working mom and I don't have time" card, but I'm pulling it now and emphatically throwing it down.
Me, too! I might be inspired to actually use one of the flats I bought this time last year, though. They've just been sitting in the drawer ever since.
The idea is to make a point that anyone can cloth diaper, even if they do nothave a washing machine or dryer. The original challenge was a reaction to an article that stated that some folks who were going through hard times would reuse sposies. The article didn't mention cloth as a viable and affordable alternative.
I recently bought a few flats, but I only have eight,so not enough to do the challenge. That is my excuse, hehe.
I've have been trying to come up with a clever remark about how unlikely it is that I would ever actually do this, but I can't. It's just too absurd to even ponder the idea.
BUT- I do think the concept of any one can use cloth, even with out a washing machine is a good one.

I think the main goal is to raise awareness that anyone *can* CD, even if you're on a very tight budget (hence the flats & covers) and limited resources (ie- no washer/dryer). It was inspired by a news story about families who were so strapped for cash that they were putting their kids in the same sposie for HOURS and then trying to "clean" out the poop and dry the urine in order to use it again.
I know Mom's Milk Boutique is making a donation for every person that completes the challenge to a CD bank. They also posted petitions you can sign to make CDs covered by WIC and other initiatives that help families in need utilize cloth as an option.
It's a little out there, but it's for a good cause.
I'm actually using flats exclusively in the newborn stage and love them. I'm slowly building a stash of pockets for later on...but I'll stick with my washer.

LOL! Ok, so I'm not a bad CD momma if I don't want to either?
It did make me more curious about flats though...

I'd be game to try flats at some point just to see but handwash any diapers for a week - no thanks. Me and my washing machine are best friends.
