I feel like pooping is such an obstacle for DD. She wakes up in the middle of the night just to go, but will strain, cry, and grunt for awhile before she can. It seems like such a painful thing for her. She goes all the time, and it's not hard, so I don't know that she is considered constipated.

Anyone have a similar situation? Worth calling pedi tomorrow? She is on Zantac for reflux if that means anything (I don't know). Any advice? ?

    are you FF or BF? We bf but she still gets bottles a few times a week. We gave her 1 tsp light corn syrup in 4 oz bottle per pedi advice and she was much better

    My baby does this too...and it always seems to be at 3am where he will wake up trying to poop or fart. ?I asked my pedi, and he told me it was totally normal, as long as the poops look soft and are the same consistency as the other poops throughout the day. ?He explained it as babies are still learning how to poop, they know they have to clench certain muscles and relax other muscles to pass a stool - they just forget which ones sometimes...eventually they learn and pooping becomes much easier!

    My DS would seriously be awake an hour or two before passing a stool, now it seems like it takes him about 15 - 30 min. ?so it's getting better. ?As long as there are no other health concerns I'd say it just takes time for them to grow out of it!?
