De-funking question

I had posted  below about my barnyard smell and just sucked it up and bought rockin green detergent and some funk rock.  The pack of funk rock states that for best results do an over night soak in RnG first.  So, I'm doing my overnight soak today while I'm at work so that I can do the laundry tonight when I get home.

My questions:

1. After my detergent soak, I will rinse and then soak in funk rock, correct?

2. After the funk rock soak, I'll rinse and just put in my washing machine, on a regular cycle, no detergent or anything, right?

3.  For my wash cycle, which will be a heavy duty cycle with hot/cold, do I add more RnG detergent?

4. Then I know I finish with a double rinse.

5.  My last question- I have 22 kawaiis, which all came with 2 microfiber inserts. The inserts have the most stink, but my outer parts smell a little.  I am not soaking the outer parts all day right now.

Should I wash all pieces together (44 inserts + the 22 shells)?  Or do the inserts and shells separately so I don't overload my machine?

I had posted  below about my barnyard smell and just sucked it up and bought rockin green detergent and some funk rock.  The pack of funk rock states that for best results do an over night soak in RnG first.  So, I'm doing my overnight soak today while I'm at work so that I can do the laundry tonight when I get home.

    My questions:

    1. After my detergent soak, I will rinse and then soak in funk rock, correct? - That's how I understand it,

    2. After the funk rock soak, I'll rinse and just put in my washing machine, on a regular cycle, no detergent or anything, right? That's what I would do

    3.  For my wash cycle, which will be a heavy duty cycle with hot/cold, do I add more RnG detergent?  I would to make sure the Funk rock was completely washed out

    4. Then I know I finish with a double rinse.  YES - but personally, I would do 3 -- but I'm anal retentive.  Just make sure to check the suds level during your second rinse, then you can tell if you need a third

    5.  My last question- I have 22 kawaiis, which all came with 2 microfiber inserts. The inserts have the most stink, but my outer parts smell a little.  I am not soaking the outer parts all day right now.  I would soak the covers too.  Is there a particular reason why you don't want to soak the covers?

Should I wash all pieces together (44 inserts + the 22 shells)?  Or do the inserts and shells separately so I don't overload my machine?   I personally would wash them all together, because that is how many i usually wash.  I wash every 3 days sometimes and I have around that number of diapers and I've never had a problem with them getting clean.

  • Thanks!  I'll soak the covers with the insets when info the funk rock soak.  I think I was just tired and since the covers don't stink as badly, I decided not to throw them into the tub with the inserts.
