DS (who just turned 2 earlier this month) has a great vocabulary. He is very verbal, knows lots of words, can string together sentences of up to 5-7 words, etc.
Over the last couple weeks, he has suddenly been saying random "words." For example, he keeps saying "pop pop" for some reason, he has been randomly saying "die" over and over, or replacing words to songs he knows with "die" and just other random, short sounds. Anyone else's kid go through a phase like this?
Re: 2yo randomly speaking in gibberish
My DD did this too. Totally being serious here, but we had her baptized right around the same age and she completely stopped doing it. She didn't say "die" but she was doing this weird growl under her breath and then she'd babble weird words; she has had an impressive vocabulary since she was very young, so this was weird.
DH and I are not overly religious, and do not belong to a church. We thought it was the right decision to have her baptized. It may have been a strange coincidence that it all stopped around the age of 2.
