My LO's baptism is coming up. We are having a reception afterwards. I'm thinking he'll need his usual afternoon nap.  Where does your LO (one year old) nap when out and about? ...I'm thinking he may need to nap in his car seat...
After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.

Re: LO and naps when not at home
I never really worry about it. It is common for both my girls to miss a nap here or there, especially at events, holidays, etc... They might grab a quick nap on the road, but I wouldn't ever seek out a nap place or take them out to the car for a nap.
Eliza has never in 28mo just fallen asleep some where. She is very much a sleep in the crib or car napp girl. Lydia can & will fall asleep anywhere, usually. I either just hold her while she snoozes or lay her down in the carseat, on someone's couch, etc...
Congratulations on the baptism!
Because we're fancy like that.
I think it depends on the kid - how much they really need to stick to their nap schedule, how likely they are to fall asleep in a PnP, etc.
My DS is very routine-oriented, and needs his nap. When he was young he would fall asleep in the car and stay asleep if we transferred him to a stroller, so that would have been an option. He'd also just fall asleep in my arms! As he gets older he's become more attached to his bed, so we tend to plan around his nap.
My DD will also fall asleep on the car, but won't stay asleep. But, she also doesn't need a nap as much, so we tend to go with the flow more with her. She'll be okay with just a 15 minute snooze.
Neither of them are good at settling down and napping in a PnP in a strange place.
