post partum hypertention???

I never had a problem with high blood pressure in my life, not even through my pregnancy.. but a few days after I delivered my BP skyrocketed and doctor said I could have PP hypertention and that it is common so she has me on meds for it and says i have to eventually be weened off of them.   How long does this last? has anybody experienced this?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but I wanted to tell you to try not to stress! This happened to me and I was really worried about it.  I was never put on meds but my doc was really close to doing that.  AT about 2 weeks pp, it suddenly went back to normal on its own. Good luck!
