Does the mucus plug always have to be brown or red??  Is it possible that it could just be a lot of normal clear or whitish discharge just thicker?? 

Man I'm getting desperate here LOL....

What I saw come out looked like a big nasty lougie. It was more whitish. But it was also at the bottom of the toilet, so I couldn't really scope out the color too good.

Mine literally had all of the possible consistencies...so i'm thinking I had my bloody show and my mucus plug come out at the same time...but not sure.  Mine looked like a golf ball size loogy at the bottom of the toilet followed by what looked like brown discharge/coffee grounds.  When i wiped it looked like snot and later I looked like I had lost bits of pinkish/flesh colored tissue which could look like a thick clump of discharge...it was just pink instead of white.

with my first it started out that way...i had no idea it was my mucus plug. then when contractions picked up and labor progressed (about 6 hours later) the bloody show part happened.

i was one of the lucky ones that lost their mucus plug and went into labor that day.

I was asking my MW about it yesterday at my apt and she flat out said the MP means nothing to her. AT. ALL   : (   i was kind of disappointed cuz I thought I lost mine last week. It was clear snot on the TP. It pretty much looked like a *** ball.

Now bloody show is a different story. I thought it was hilarious how she was like "I love me some bloody show!"
