You know who you are--you ladies have been so helpful for the past week as I battle yeast!
So, DD's rash cleared up, the yeast part at least. Now we're dealing with rash from the acidity level in her poo. Anyway...
I treated her diapers on Saturday per y'all's instructions but forgot to adjust my hot water heater. I used the "treated" diapers and lo and behold, saw a small patch of red circles pop up again. I'm going to re-treat the diapers again today but this time DH adjusted the water heater for me up to 130 (turns out it was only set to 122 before). I'm paranoid that in my first round of treatment the yeast didn't die even with bleach, TTO and GFE, hence its possible encore.
Now, here's my question--do I need to worry about treating all of the other laundry I did after the first treatment? On Sunday, I prepped new diapers in the same washer and dried them in the same dryer with the same dryer balls that I used in my first failed treatment on Saturday. I'm wondering if yeast can live in the washer and dryer since I may not have banished it in the first treatment. Is that dumb, am I being overly paranoid? Do I need to get rid of my dryer balls and treat even the newly prepped diapers?
Geez Louise...thanks ladies...
Re: Paging the Yeast Experts!
I think you'd be fine too... but being scarred from the yeast battle, I would probably rewash it all anyway.
I would cram in all in one load, though. Cause I'm lazy like that.
Sorry I haven't been following your yeast chronicle, but I wanted to give my two cents!
We dealt with yeast off and on for a few months during DD's ear infection saga. We found two things that help: using liners and using Nystatin. I'm not a fan of prescription creams and I know there are natural yeast remedies out there, but using the Nystatin a few times a day with a liner cleared up her bum AND protected our dipes. I never had to use bleach again (I did bleach the first time through yeast) and we never had a recurrence of yeast (knock on wood!).
