Chace vs Chase

preferred spelling, please?  I thought we'd go with Chase, but I think I've seen it spelled w/ a "C", too, so I wasn't sure which is more common??

Chase looks more normal, but a friend of mine named her son Chayce- a little different.

I was watching Gossip Girl last night and DH happened to catch when Chace Crawford's name appeared in the credits. His comment was "Wow, that's a silly way to spell Chase! Is that for a girl or boy? Why would you use a 'c'?"

Needless to say, please use Chase.

Chace is legitimate spelling. It's a French and probably makes more sense with French accent.

Chace reminds me of Chachi from Happy Days - that is how I want to pronounce it.

I've never seen it with a C so I would say Chase. The C makes it look like Chance but with the N missing.
