HELP! Scared of Potty

My 2 year old DD was showing all the signs of potty readiness, so we decided to give it a try over Spring Break.  We had a lot of success initially, but then she became scared of the potty (both the big toilet and the little potty).  She's a little less scared now, and will pee every night before bathtime, but in the morning, she will hold it from the time she wakes up until the time she goes down for her nap (5-6 hours), and then she wakes up with a wet diaper from nap.  It doesn't even matter if she's wearing underwear or a pull-up - she still holds it all morning.

I feel badly for her, and I don't want her to develop a bladder infection, so I'm considering backing off potty training entirely.  My sitter says I should keep at it, because she seems "so close".  Any suggestions?  If I do back off potty training, should I keep her in pull-ups, or go back to diapers?  Thanks everyone!
