RCS and dialation

My RCS is scheudled for 4/27, but i'm already starting to dialte (2cm as of 4/9) and i've been having contractions. Based on RCS experience did anyone's doctor's decide at a certain dialation phase to go ahead and go to the hospital early instead of waiting for full labor, water break or the scheduled date? I have an appt today at 4 and was just curious if anyone had gone to their regular scheduled appointments and been 3cm or something and they decide to take them a little earlier?

Re: RCS and dialation

  • I was never checked for dilation and my OB said it was pointless to check because of the rcs. I was in early labor when I was hooked up to the monitor on my scheduled day at 38w1d and if I had been in full labor prior to my scheduled date that I would have been taken into surgery right away.

  • I was told yesterday at my appt that the only thing that would change my RCS date was my body going into labor. Thats it. Dialation can happen and stay that way for weeks so I don't think it alone will prompt a sooner date. I opted out of being checked due to this. If I go into labor, I am sure I will know it and was told to proceed to the hospital where they would plan to do the surgery sooner.
