Going through some boy names for this little one and thought I would ask for your opinions.
Conrad - My fav. It was my Great Grandpa's name and I LOVE IT!
Theodore - DH's fav. He is stuck on this name, nn Teddy. I HATE Teddy but I really like Theodore nn Theo. DH doesn't like Theo. I think this one may not work.
I also like:
Jonas
Leo
Augustus
Guilty pleasure names I love but probably won't use: Thaddeus, Atticus, Walter.
DS is Ian James
Re: Pick apart my Boy Name list
wow your baby isnt even born yet and your thinking of naming him an old persons name..... dont get me wrong remembering someone is great i say if you give any of these names let it be a middle name. oh by the way ian james is a cute name give the baby something like that.
Sorry you can't agree an a nn for Theodore, I think Theodore Conrad sounds great.
Out of your choices I love Leo and Augustus and ALL of your GP names. If your mix/matching these names I would go with: Augustus Conrad, Augustus Leo and I guess Leo Augustus sounds nice as well.
Love Ian James, you started your sibset well.
I have an entirely differing opinion the PP. I think "old people names" are fantastic. Mostly because your baby will only be an actual baby for a very short percentage of their life.
Anyway, as far as your names go... I love Thaddeus, Theodore and Atticus (I'm on the wall about Conrad... meh) but because Ian's name is two one syllable names I'm not sure you'll find a sibling set that jives nicely. Maybe you need really short middle names?
Yeah, don't listen to this. Your child is going to spend a lot more time as an adult than as a baby. Which I think you already realize.
I love your name list. Seriously. I love every single name you listed.
Conrad and Augustus are my favorites; Conrad has a slight edge because it's a family name. And I really think you should consider using Atticus. It's one of my favorite names ever, and not nearly so "odd" now that To Kill a Mockingbird name Harper has taken off.
Conrad: not really my style, but I do kinda like it for other people's kids. You don't hear it often. But it's still manly. To pp, just because it was her grandfather's name doesn't make it an old person's name. Her grandfather was young once, too. And OP's son will likely be a senior longer than they will be a baby.
Theodore: Good name. We considered it. But unless you plan to just call him Theodore, I agree it may have to be taken off the table if you and your H can't agree on what to call him.
Jonas: It's ok
Leo: Love this name. Cute with Ian
Augustus: Okay as a middle name. I like it in theory, but as a first name I feel like this is one of those names that a boy would HATE to have when he's in middle/high school. LIke he would cringe on the first day of school when the teacher called out his full name because he doesn't want anyone to know it. It would take a a super cool, funky kid to pull this one off without hesitation.
Thaddeus is actually pretty cool. And I really like Atticus, though I feel like it's on the rise as a hip/trendy option. But it will probably never reach super common status, so it may not be an issue.

I love your options except Jonas which reminds me of the eponymous brothers. I would go Conrad Theodore because family names are great and DH gets his pick too.
Atticus is a favorite of mine as well. Naming a baby after the most wonderful fictional character ever is a good pick.
I really like Conrad. It's not heard very often anymore, but it's a good, strong, virile name.
Could you and DH agree to call him Theodore? He doesn't necessarily need a nickname.
Jonas is nms. It just makes me think of the Jonas Brothers.
I like Leo and have been seeing it pop up quite a bit. I LOVE Augustus. We have a friend named Augustus and he goes by Auggie. I think Augustus is a kickass name.
I'm not a fan of Thaddeus. Just don't like it. I like Atticus, but think it could be kind of hipster-annoying. And I do like Walter. I think it's adorable.

Conrad- I like this and love the family significance. It does make me think of Conrad Murray though (Michael Jackson's doctor)
Theodore- I hear this a lot lately. It is cutesy to me- maybe because of the 3 chipmunks. I think you will have to table it unless you can agree on a nn. I prefer Theo.
Jonas-meh, ok
Leo-LOVE I have a nephew named Leo so I have a great association. It was also my grandpa's name. I think Leo Augustus would be a great name.
Augustus- sounds pretentious to me. I prefer August/nn Auggie. I think Augustus makes a great mn.
Thaddeua-ok and nn Thad is cool
Atticus-nms
Walter-nms- This one is really old man to me. I would love to name a dog Walter because I love old man human names on dogs.
In order of preference: Leo, Conrad, Thaddeus
Conrad - This name is fine, but I don't care for the potential nn of Connie. Although there was a male Connie in Mad Men, so maybe it could grow on me
Theodore - Do you like Ted? I don't which is why our Theodore goes by Theo, but if you are fine I think you could use Ted as a compromise. My understanding is that most little Teddys choose to drop the diminutive sound of this nn once they hit school age and revert to just Ted. I adore this name and love all the options it has and the meaning "Divine gift"
I also like:
Jonas Not a fan, would prefer Jonah
Leo Cute nn, but would prefer a longer, formal name
Augustus Fine, but I prefer Augustine
Thaddeus This might be a good compromise on Theodore, same vibe
Atticus Fine, but getting way over done on here and IRL for me,
Walter Love this name, reminds me of AoGG's son
Combos: Conrad Theodore, Theodore Augustus, Theodore Walter, Theodore Conrad, Walter Augustus, Walter Thaddeus
LOL to this.
Anyway, OP:
Conrad - It's just ok for me...I have kind of a negative personal association with it, but it's definitely a nice, strong name.
Theodore - I've never been a fan of this one.
I also like:
Jonas - Like, but like Jonah more.
Leo - Love
Augustus - Never been a fan of the August names
Guilty pleasure names I love but probably won't use: Thaddeus, Atticus, Walter - I really like Atticus!
DS is Ian James
I say you should go with Conrad Theodore, or maybe Conrad Jonas.
What does your husband think of Leo? It is very similar to Theo, How about some other names that are like Theo, Teddy and Conrad? You know, compromise?
