Last ditch effort to get my baby moving out before the scheduled induction tomorrow evening. I am kinda nervous about whats about to happen. I am so bummed about being induced but trying to stay positive.
I'm being induced tomorrow morning, early. But the idea of castor oil makes me shudder. That can make you really sick. Please, if you haven't, read the negatives to using it. If your body isn't ready, it won't help anyways and you'll just get all the bad effects from it and possibly be worn out and dehydrated for your induction which won't help you.

This. I vote don't do it. ESPECIALLY since your induction is tomorrow. Take today to relax and sleep.
Thanks. But I will do anything to try not to have this baby at the hospital. Today and tomorrow are my last chance to have him at the birth center. I am being monitored closely by my midwives.
I'm glad to hear you're being monitored closely by your MWs because castor oil can indeed be dangerous. I know someone who tried it and it caused stress to the baby and the baby also pooped their meconium in utero which caused complications. Wishing you the best so you can get the birth you want! Stay in close touch with your MWs.

In that case I wish you luck and I hope it works for you!
Here's hoping you don't completely empty your bowels while pushing!
THIS!!! Our labor instructor (also a L&D nurse) said she would like to have words with people with try castor oil right before an induction. Most likely you will be pooping out your guts in oily smelly stools for the majority of labor.

Thanks for the concern everyone. So far feeling fine, nothing crazy at all. It is only Tuesday and I will not get pitocin till Thursday morning. Starting with just cervidil on Wednesday night. The side effects of the castor oil will have worn off by then.
Aw that sucks, I am worried this will happen to me. If I go to 42 weeks I can't go to the birth center.
I haven't tried the castor oil, they did say at 41 w 5days they usually try the cervadil. I didn't ask them about castor oil, but I heard it causes "issues" so I've avoided it so far. But maybe I'll be desperate enough next week!
