zyrtec?

So Lo is 2 and has been coughing for 10days. First week want bad just juicy and sounded phelgmy. It wasn't all day. Last night it started at 11 to 1230 non stop. I gave her zyrtec per her pedi and it worked. But last time she took it 3 days in a row she was Soo bad. Anyone else have Lo on zyrtec? I'm not sure this is allergies or something else? Anyone going thru this?

Both of mine are on it for allergies.  I give it about an hour before bedtime daily and have for a long time.
