pituitary microadenoma

Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with this.  Mine is very small but my dad did some research and 1 in 5 people may have a small tumor on their pituitary. I thought I just had post pill amenorrhea because nothing happened after I got of birth control when we TTC.  My NP prescribed progesterone after three months.  Nothing happened so I went to a doctor who prescribed estrogen for 21 days and than provera again and I was also diagnosed with hypothalamic hypopituitary.  I have the progesterone levels of a menopausal women but the rest were in normal range.  Than the MRI showed a small lesion or cyst or tumor on my pituitary.  Now I've finished the last batch of provera and no period.  I have a prescription for I have also tried to gain a little weight and work out less. My doctor referred me to the fertility clinic.  I do have a prescription for Letrozole when I start my cycle. Does anyone have anything similar happening to them.  I'm a bit confused as why on BC I got my period fine but with the estrogen progestin combo nothing is happening.

I just wanted to say hello and good luck! I don't have a tumor on the pituitary, mine just chooses not to function on its own accord. Since symptoms are similar I thought I'd send a hello. I've been panhypopit since around age 10 so if you have any pituitary questions let me know!

I actually have a pituitary macroadenoma that is a prolactinoma (1.5cm by 1.5 cm).  I got my period on bc also but never got it when I went off.  Still haven't actually.  I am currently on provera for the first time so we will see what happens after 6 more days. Pituitary adenomas are somewhat common and usually incidental findings on MRIs or autopsy.  I take cabergoline 2x per week and it shrunk.  I am just starting TTC but my ob referred me to an RE when I saw her last week.  I am going on May 1st. I think that you get your period when you are BC because you are given estrogen via BC and with the withdrawal of hormones each month you menstruated.  It may mean that your estrogen is low. If women who  take provera and  have adequate endogenous estrogen, it transforms proliferative into secretory endometrium which then you menstruate.

Your right I do have low estrogen levels so this time I was taking estorgen for 21 days prior to taking provera but it still hasn't worked for me.  Very strange.  I'm very tempted to just take a couple BC pills to start things up so I can start letrozole but I'm thinking that wouldn't work.  I just have been trying to be patient since I realized somthing was wrong in December.  Thanks for the info.
