I'm having issues with my fitteds/wool leaking which is making me quite sad. I'm not sure if it's a compression leak, LO does sleep on his right side a lot but they don't leak every night. Perhaps it's just time to re-lanolize? How often do you lanolize? I think it was ~2wks and I have 3 covers that I rotate through.
This morning he woke up, right side is all wet. The fitted is pretty much soaked everywhere except for a small portion along his upper back. Wool cover feels slightly damp in spots but if I press down nothing comes out. We are using SBish OBF fitteds and Kissaluvs wool soakers. We've used this combo and stayed dry before.
Any suggestions?
Re: Wool leaks :-(
I'd suggest that if you're having that much wetness in the mornings (and since you've already re-lanolized recently), to add more boosters/inserts to your night time diaper--especially since your fitteds are absolutely soaked when you go to change your LOs.
DS is a very heavy wetter & we have 3 boosters in his night time diaper (one of which is hemp, which'll absorb a TON). His night time diapers are HUGE, but they keep him & his bedding/PJs/etc dry.
Also wool isn't necessarily waterproof, so some degree of dampness is expected. DS is usually a tiny bit damp to the touch when he gets up in the morning, but he doesn't soak anything & you can't feel any moisture on his PJs.
I usually lanolize about once a month (with washing the wool every 10 days to 2 weeks or so). Have you tried dry lanolizing (just taking a blob of lanolin in your hand & working it into the areas you notice are especially wet)? That's my primary way of lanolizing so I can target the "wet zones."

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm thinking perhaps we need to add some hemp doublers to soak up more since he is a super heavy wetter too.
Never tried dry lanolizing, I have been washing and lanolizing every 3 weeks. Maybe I will try doing the dry lanolizing on the right side since that's where it's leaking.
I didn't mention it, but dry lanolizing is just that--you lanolize when the wool is completely dry. With dry lanolizing, I'd recommend working the lanolin in your hands until it's softened & melted first. Then gently touch the wool to transfer the lanolin onto the wool. Then work it in/massage it in gently.

I was just going to suggest this. It could be time to increase the absorbancy.
